Facilities Continue to Shine – Even During Tough Times
10 Academy Member Facilities Receive Recognition
It's been a rough road this year for the long-term care profession — a recession, a challenging state budget and national health care debates — but 10 facilities battled through the adversity and proved their resilience by garnering outstanding state surveys.
The Academy's Executive Director, Victoria Gresh, noted that overall 2009 has been very demanding, but member achievement can never be celebrated enough. "It's been a very difficult year not only for our members, but also the profession as a whole. Everyone has been asked, once again, to do more with less, but these 10 facilities clearly demonstrated that it can be done successfully. To be able to personally visit each of these facilities and thank them for raising the bar for the long-term care profession has truly been an honor."
Gresh added that there always seems to be one common characteristic among the award-winning facilities. "They love what they do. It's that simple."
The Ohio Academy of Nursing Homes, Inc. presents three types of awards to member facilities:
